First TQS participation in the SPE North America Conference in May 2025

The SPE (Society of Plastic Engineers) is one of the oldest engineering associations and was founded in 1942. Its influence in the world of plastics, with a particular focus on thermoforming, has grown steadily over the last few decades. It is one of the most influential technical and commercial platforms in the world of plastics.

After TQS participated in the last European SPE conference in February 2024, the TQS management team decided relatively quickly to participate in the 2025 American SPE conference (www.thermoformingdivision.com), which took place in Atlanta from May 19 to 21.

During two and a half very intensive days of meetings, presentations, and many one-on-one discussions, TQS Sales Manager Clemens Menzel-Hobeck presented the TQS infrared cassette radiant heater range to various interested parties, such as operators of thermoforming machines, manufacturers of thermoforming machines, and service providers in the thermoforming industry. The interested parties came from the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
TQS’s latest product development, the Velox IR cassette radiant heater, attracted particular interest.

Mr. Menzel-Hobeck commented: “Once again, a very well-organized SPE conference. And a good and correct decision to come to the USA – even in these internationally difficult times on all markets and continents. TQS will definitely intensify its marketing efforts in North America.”

The latest development from TQS – the Velox infrared heater

After decades of successfully supplying the plastics industry with extremely reliable classic IR emitters, TQS received an increasing number of requests for a faster IR cassette emitter.
The task at hand was to reduce the energy consumption when the emitters are in the park position – in “idle” mode – and consume around 30% of their rated power for several minutes in order to shorten the response time for the start of the next thermoforming cycle.

Customers requested that the fast response time of halogen short-wave IR emitters be implemented in medium-wave cassette emitters.
TQS can confirm that its latest development, the Velox emitter, now offers this feature.
Customers confirm: “We were able to save approximately 25% energy compared to the TQS-CLASSIC emitters we used previously.”
