Unlike the CLASSIC cassette heater, however, it is ready for use after just 6 seconds and requires no holding current.

The VELOX heater 100% of its rated voltage only for steps 1 and 2; compare the operation and energy consumption of our CLASSIC heaters. This makes the power consumption of a VELOX heater during a production cycle comparable to that of a halogen flash heater.
In customer production cycles, there were sometimes periods of more than 45 seconds with no power consumption – the thermoforming machine was essentially “off.”
TQS’s VELOX cassette heater thus reduce energy consumption by between 15% and 25%, depending on the machine and plastic material. The reduced readiness time of 6 seconds enables a reduction in cycle time of between 10% and 20%.
Naturally, our VELOX cassette heater is backward compatible, meaning that TQS CLASSIC heaters can be replaced 1:1 with VELOX heaters in older machines.
